PALACE PIER - Corridors     

Palace Pier is located on the southeast corner of Lakeshore Blvd. West and Palace Pier Court and was constructed in 1979. The Palace Pier Condominium Board approached JCO for the delivery of brand new hallways throughout entire building.

JCO worked with the Palace Pier Condominium Board to realize the design vision for the new vogue corridors complete with very unique black reflective ceilings. To create very intriguing Residential Corridors, JCO installed new custom carpeting, applied new paint and wall covering which incorporated fine wall covering, extensive use of mirrors and the detailing of existing chair rail border. Special stretch ceilings were created with partial drop ceilings, black reflective mirrors and new lighting. Custom millwork was fabricated for door mouldings for suite doors and elevators. The suite doors were painted and were appointed with new door hardware.

To complete this project, JCO updated the Guest Suites and Lounge as the new designs required the installation new carpeting and lighting; fresh new looks with new paint colours and application of fashionable wall coverings.





KING'S LANDING - Corridors and Lobbies      

Kings Landing is a residential high rise condominium, designed by Canadian renowned architect Arthur Erikson. It is a landmark, upscale building that overlooks Toronto harbour on Queens Quay. The building’s unique tiered, cruise ship like structure allows virtually all 101 suites to have a view of the harbour.

JCO collaborated with the Kings Landing Condominium Board, Property Management and JCO Trade Professionals for the refurbishment of the Kings Landing Residential Corridors and changes to Main Lobby that further reflect Arthur Erikson’s style.

The Client mandated that the integrity of the elegant, contemporary and timeless Arthur Erikson design be retained. JCO Trade artisans focused special attention on refinishing Corridor woodwork and applying a new rich new stain colour.

A new design element was added through the installation of architectural glass panels that provided a new dimension and intrigue to the overall design. In addition, mirrors and wood pilasters were added to the Elevator Lobbies. Erikson’s trademark squares were incorporated into the design elements particularly the wall covering and carpeting.





PARKSIDE - Corridors, Lobbies, Party Room and Fitness Centre

The Condominium Corporation at Parkside condominiums approached JCO for the ambitious refurbishment of its Main Lobby, Residential Corridors, Party Room facilities, basement level rooms and its Fitness Centre facilities. JCO worked with the Client to conceive a design vision that would provide a thorough update of these areas.

In the Residential Corridors the outdated colour scheme was replaced with a more contemporary colour palette which was the basis for the selection of new flooring, paint, wall covering and lighting. The wainscotting and chair rails were removed, contemporary tiling was installed in the Elevator Lobby areas with an elegant choice of stone tile for wall accents. New textured wall covering and painted door areas with modern lighting made for a striking new appearance for the Residential Corridors.

The Main Lobby was updated in keeping with the Residential Corridors. JCO built a new coffered ceiling, painted the wood panelling and added a feature fireplace with an intriguing tile surround.

The Party Room was updated with new paint, wall covering, tile, custom stonework and new kitchen facilities.

The Fitness Centre was updated with new paint, tile and a durable vinyl flooring.





HEATHSIDE PLACE - Corridors and lobby

JCO & Associates was requested to re-invent a very dated Main Lobby shared by two towers located on Walmer Road. In addition, JCO was given the mandate to update the Exercise Room, Party Room, Washrooms and Residential Corridors. The Lobby, appointed with brass railings and extensive water ponds, lost its appeal and was costly to maintain. JCO collaborated with the Client and Designer to deliver a sleek, more contemporary and practical design. The brass railings and water ponds were removed. New porcelain flooring was installed and a modern eye-catching water feature was added.

Through careful planning JCO overcame the challenge of maintaining fire route walkways for both towers throughout the refurbishment. JCO utilized its extensive supplier network to match existing materials to new materials and to provide cost-effective construction solutions .

Corridor refurbishment included new wall scones, new mirrors, removal of chair rails.





PLAZA SUITES - Corridors and Lobbies     

JCO was requested to undertake a lobby and corridor refurbishment at the Citysphere condominium. The lobby was significantly modified by removing the elevated seating area to provide accessibility. The entire colour scheme was enhanced with a sleek, sophisticated finish of predominantly white tiling with black accents. Custom millwork was used to transform the Lobby areas and Concierge Desk. Elegant wall sconces and a chandelier provided the finishing touches for this fresh elegant new look.

The Residential Corridors were renovated with new carpet, paint, wall coverings and door treatments (painting of doors and moulding). The carpeting, wall tiles and lighting in the Parking Elevator Lobbies were replaced with new wall and floor tiling as well as new lighting.





MARKET SQUARE - Lobby and Corridors

JCO transformed of the Market Square condominium Residential Corridors and Main Lobby areas with a design realization that was a dramatic departure from the original traditional design. The dated Lobby area was modernized with a playful use of colour textures and chic furniture. The lines of this space were simplified and the bold colours of the carpeting, paint, wall coverings were used to create a dynamic new space. New lighting was strategically situated in the new ceiling to add to the dramatic effect of this significant change in decor.

The Residential Corridors were updated by way of new carpet, tiling wall sconces and overhead lighting. An unusual request to have a new colour scheme for each residential floor, although costly further defined this unique design. The new colour schemes, paint, wall covering and wall tiles created an exciting ambiance and well-needed improvements of these Residential Corridors.





1 YORK QUAY - Gym Restaurant, Bar and Lounge

One York Quay had an extensive recreational facility that needed refreshing. JCO refurbised the gym, restaurant, bar and lounge areas transforming them into the Board’s and Designer’s vision of a lively place to hang out with friends or be inspired in their workouts.
